The North Platte River Valley Farm is an irrigated farm in the North Platte River Valley near Scottsbluff, in northwestern Nebraska. This 640+/- acre farm consists of 434 acres irrigated and 49 acres of dryland crop with the balance being native grassland. The farm topography is undulating to gently rolling and upland in nature.

LOCATION AND AREA

The farm is located two miles north of the town of Broadwater in Morrill County, Nebraska. Broadwater is in the Nebraska Panhandle along the North Platte River and served by US Highway 26.

ACREAGE AND DESCRIPTION

A total of 434+/- acres irrigated which are irrigated by a 17 Tower Valley center pivot system. There are three registered wells producing about 850 GPM of water, 122 acres of the irrigated land enrolled in USDA CREP with an annual payment of $105 per acre. The remaining irrigated acreage consists of 220 acres planted of wheat and 92 acres in alfalfa. Currently, the dryland crop planted is wheat.

A majority of the soils are Mitchell very find sandy loams along with Otero and Alice-Dix complex soils. Nearly all the soils are Class 2 & 3 ratings under irrigation.

IMPROVEMENTS

No improvements included except irrigation development. Boundary is fenced.
